Well that sure took a while. As the rest of the world had the honor of being  part of HTC's launch markets for the up and coming HTC Touch Diamond, the US has had to wait for HTC to push their US-spec HTC Touch Diamond through the FCC. The HTC Touch Diamond already passed FCC

HTC Touch 3G earns its FCC wings HTC's "Jade," as the Touch 3G is known internally, has just earned FCC approval -- that's the good news. Unfortunately, the only approval it's going to see in the FCC's jurisdiction is of the 2G sort, because the blasted thing only features WCDMA on the 900 and 2100MHz bands. Those lucky enough to enjoy the handset at full speed will be the lucky beneficiaries of 7.2Mbs HSDPA, ...

FCC has recently revealed a new version of the HTC's Touch Dual smartphone, the HTC NEON300. Even in the report it was indicated that the latter is in fact Touch Dual. Here's what the phone offers: 3G HSDPA 850/1900Mhz support; 400Mhz processor; 2.6" touchscreen di...

HTC Touch Diamond with US HSDPA going to the highest bidder Okay, so officially, there's no such thing as a Touch Diamond that can hang on 850 or 1900MHz HSDPA networks -- key word there being "officially." The FCC knows better than that, and at least one eBayer looking for a little extra spending cash seems to as well. A fellow with a so-so 92.9 percent feedback rating claims to have the most illusive of Touch Diamond models in his possession, but wa...

FCC Approves HTC Touch 3G 'Jade' Today FCC has approved the HTC "Jade", better known as the Touch 3G. Unfortunately (but expected), the 7.2Mbps HSDPA won't be available to North American users. Instead they'll have to enjoy the crappy 2G WCDMA on the 900 and 2100MHz bands, which won't even allow for chatting and browsing at the same time. Oh well, that's life, atleast it'll make it stateside......
