Sharing an MP3 player is old hat. You put one plug in your ear, and one in her ear (or his, if you prefer) but what you don't get is stereo. So you buy a "splitter" - and yes, you both have stereo but - bang! - you lose your microphone. That's a bit of a problem if your MP3 player is a phone (for example a Walkman or iPhone.
