iPhone 2.2 Firmware Pwned! Folks from the iPhone Dev Team have managed to jailbreak the the second beta of the iPhone 2.2 firmware, which hasn't even been release yet. They say that Apple still doesn’t have a fix for devices that can be easily owned, such as iPhone. As a proof of their deed they’ve posted a screenshot, which you see here....

iPhone Firmware 2.2 Jailbroken before its Release When we mentioned a while back that the release of firmware 2.2 to developers was a sign that the iPhone Dev Team should get to work on an appropriate jailbreak for it, we weren’t expecting one to be finished this soon. iPhone firmware 2.2 hasn’t even been released to the public yet and the hard

iPhone 2.2 update already jailbroken, what? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, right? Well, something like that. The iPhone 2.2 software update hasn’t even been released yet and the ever swift iPhone Dev Team has already jailbroken it. It’s like they were reading Apple’s minds and went up for the block before the shot got off. Or,

iPhone Dev Team Jailbreaks iPhone 2.2 Firmware Before Official Release The iPhone Dev Team has done it again. This time, through some sort of voodoo mind-melding technique, they have actually announced that they have successfully jailbroken 2.2… Before the iPhone 2.2 firmware has even been released. If you’re puzzled by this, don’t worry. I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation. My best guess would be that they

iPhone Dev Team: iPhone 2.2. OS jailbreak success! Apple hasn’t even officially rolled out its iPhone 2.2. OS yet and we’re already seeing the iPhone development community hacking away at the beta-release of the iPhone OS update. And, by “development community” we’re referring to the skilled iPhone-hacking code-monkeys on the iPhone Dev Team. The iPhone 2.2 OS is expected to finally bring the highly

While the rest of the world goes about their daily business, toiling away at their jobs or studying to make the grade, the iPhone Dev Team has been working away to make the iPhone 3G software unlock solution a reality. iPhone Dev Team teases with 3G unlock video Wondering where your iPhone 3G unlock's at? Rest assured, the delightful world of hackery hasn't been standing still in the months since the 3G was released, and to prove it, the iPhone Dev Team has slipped out a little teaser video (only with an iPhone 3G unlock could a 55-second video of terminal commands be called a "teaser video," by the way) showing some talented son of a gun having...

iPhone 3G Baseband Unlock nearing completion While this may have little implication in the greater context of things, the iPhone Dev Team is close to finally coming up with an iPhone 3G baseband unlock solution which was missing when the iPhone 2.0 jailbreak was released. Since iPhones will still solely be available and activated through AT&T stores in the US,

3G Baseband Tool from iphonedev on Vimeo. The iPhone Dev Team is closer to unlocking the iPhone 3G. They have cracked the baseband which means the unlock we always wished for it’s coming. Unfortunately we can’t say when the full unlock will arrive. The baseband will give you control of the phone’s telecomm via hacked code.
