Palm has been suffering quite a bit lately what with the apparent slow demise of their webOS smartphone saviours. But let’s be honest, Palm has done itself no favours when it comes to the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi. Launching the Palm Pre late meant it clashed with the arrival of a new iPhone which turned

Palm: new ad and survival guide When I penned down the going ahead for Palm, I had a feeling that its a little incomplete.  Still waiting for a hands-on with the WebOS and reminiscing my days with the Treo 650 (heck, I bought 3 of those one after the another every-time it gave up on me); it couldnt have been a

Note To RIM — Buy Palm… Just In Case… As some of you long time RIMarkable readers may know, I am on the record several times stating that Research in Motion should buy Palm.  The last time that I felt strongly about this was back in late 2008 before webOS came out and Palms stock price was down under $2.00. Even though webOS is a ...

Palm – the next financial quarter’s going to be a rocky one So, Palm. They staged a comeback in 2009, and they did so well that I even called it (along with Motorola) the joint comeback of the year. They had the opportunity there to turn the mobile world on its head, thanks to that brilliant, space-age, super whizzy WebOS interface. Its just a shame that they

ARTICLE: Palm's AT&T debut pushed back to July? While webOS users around the world have enjoyed GSM versions of the Pre and Pixi, US users haven't been so lucky.  If you want a Pre (Plus) or a Pixi (Plus), you're stuck with CDMA.  According to AllThingsD's John Paczkowski, AT&T still plans to carry the devices, but Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek is reporting that the launch has been pushed back from the rum...

ARTICLE: Keep the 'Phone' in Smartphone   My initial selection of the Palm Pre Plus was swayed heavily by webOS and its sophisticated multitasking and notification capabilities. The more I use my Pre Plus, I am finding many other great features worth noting.  First, the most basic feature - its functionality as a phone - and second, the small but growing Palm App Catalog.   Palm Pre Plus’ Functionality as a Phone Th...

Palm isnt doing particularly well, even though it has a impressive product with the WebOS. Last quarter they sold just over 400,000 smartphones and lost $22 million. With a refreshed Palm Pre / Pixi and new carriers going live, Palm would have expected better sales, but they themselves had cut the guidance a while back.
