Celio preps two new Celio REDFLY C7 and C8N models Celio, makers of the Palm Foleo-like REDFLY Mobile Companion, has announced that they’ve got two new devices in the pipeline for the coming holiday shopping season. Celio apparently didn’t think the current REDFLY was good enough on its own and has announced the REDFLY C7 and REDFLY C8N to round out its thin-client portfolio. The Celio

Celio Redfly Review: Intro and Hardware For the past few weeks, I've had the opportunity to live "life on life" with the Celio Redfly. For the uninitiated, the Redfly is much like the defunct Palm Foleo. It is a mobile companion that simply seeks to enhance the users Smartphone experience by adding a few luxuries. In the case of the Redfly, those would be a nice 8 inch screen that doesn't just zoom in or blow the devices screen up to an...

Fans of the doomed-from-the-start Palm Foleo will be happy to hear that the Celio REDFLY Windows Mobile companion notebook is now available online. The Celio REDFLY works to extend the computing power of your Windows Mobile smartphone to a notebook form-factor with larger display and full-sized QWERTY keyboard. There's a chance Palm will revive its "mobile companion" Foleo. According to The Register, the Treo maker could release the discontinued device with WiMAX radio to make it work with Sprint's XOHM network. Apparently, Palm has recently invited beta testers which are at the same time existing smartphone owners to test an "innovative new product." I

The Celio REDFLY is billed as the Mobile Companion to your Windows Mobile device, but the death of the Palm Foleo, the REDFLY's role as a true mobile computing client is questionable. Nevertheless, Mobility Today has had a chance to review the Celio REDFLY and came away impressed. With no need to do any local processing

CNET's Mobile Gadgeteer Matthew Miller posted an informative video demo of the Redfly Windows Mobile Smartphone Companion at… Can the REDFLY Windows Mobile Smartphone Companion succeed where the Foleo couldn't? The Redfly is actually LESS than what the never-launched Palm Foleo was to supposed to be. The Redfly does not have any internal functions. It is just

You may love it, you may hate it, but that isn't going to keep Celio from pushing their Palm Foleo-like REDFLY Mobile Companion to Windows Mobile 5/6 smartphone users around the world. Check out this little hands-on demo of the Celio REDFLY with Celio CEO Kirt Bailey. Props to Smartphone Thoughts for the vid. [Via: Smartphone Thoughts]

Why should a little thing like an entire platform-scrapping from Palm stop Celio from following in their red-stained footprints? After having pulled the plug on the craptastic failure that was the Palm Foleo, Celio is announcing the Celio REDFLY Smartphone Interface System. Like it's Palm-borne cousin, the Celio REDFLY is essentially a computing companion for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 users looking f

Last year Palm announced the cancellation of their Palm Foleo product. It was a full-size mobile companion with a keyboard and large screen to help with editing documents etc. Now Redfly are to launch a similar device for Windows Mobile. Packing an 8" display, touchpad and keyboard it'll give that laptop-feel to your Windows Mobile phone. USB flash-drive access and charging plus VGA output and USB

The irony is so thick we're almost drowning in it, but but we had to see this thing through to the end. Back in 2005 we got a once in a lifetime scoop -- the Treo 700w -- that proved once and for all Palm was doing non-Palm OS devices. Then, earlier this year, we were there when Jeff Hawkins announced the ill-fated Foleo at D5. We got the first ever hands-on of the
