Comstar UTS, a Russian operator, has said that by the end of this year they plan to cover 75% of the country of Armenia in WiMAX. No word as yet as to which services will be offered.

Comstar says it has started building a wireless broadband network based on the 802.16e standard WiMAX technology in the Republic of Armenia. The project is expected to be completed in the second part of 2008.

Russia's telecom operator Comstar signed an agreement with Intel to jointly develop the first mobile WiMAX, or wireless broadband, network in Russia, Comstar said in a statement Tuesday.
